    World Hypnotism Day Proclamation

Monday, September 17, 2007, 12:34 PM EST [General]

At the convention, Tom Nicoli held a workshop once again to help us help ourselves.  The workshop on World Hypnotism Day was a chance to learn more about how we can build our practices and create a positive awareness of who we are and what we do.

One of the suggestions was to have your mayor sign a proclamation for WHD.  Well, I live in the un-incorporated county, which means I have no mayor.  What's a girl to do?  I decided to make use of the wonderful resources Tom and Ralph Benko  have provided and give it a go with my county commissioners.  Well, it worked!  That's right (to quote Tom, he-he) World Hypnotism Day will be officially heralded in Pinellas County, Fl by the board of Commissioners!  How cool is that?!

    They've Called For An Encore!

Thursday, July 26, 2007, 10:54 AM EST [General]

I am racing off to my office, but I just had to share a picture from last night's success! Those in attendance are calling for an encore and I have received many requests from those who were unable to give them another chance as well!

    Hump Day Celebration

Tuesday, July 24, 2007, 11:19 AM EST [General]

I have learned a lot from Tom Nicoli and his outstanding World Hypnotism Day. It is redundant at this point for me to go into detail about how his press releases dramatically improved my practice in this past year.

Tom got my wheels grinding with his summertime WHD event.

I am changing office location and prior to the move I wanted to begin to create a buzz about it. I am always looking for opportunities to give hypnosis a good name and of course to increase revenue at the least cost. All of that being said, here's the scoop. I am holding a hump day celebration at the new location in conjunction with the acupuncture physician I am sharing space with.

Here is a sample of what I have sent out to my mailing list and to the press. (Because I am combing the two, it is not exactly what either got, but you get the idea!)

    Hump Day Happiness Hour

Palm Harbor's First Stress Release Event That Doesn't Include Alcohol!

Two Palm Harbor businesswomen have created a non-alcoholic "Happy Hour" as a way to celebrate Hump Day (the middle of the week) and eliminate stress, while raising money for charity. Hypnotist Debbie Lane and Acupuncture Physician Christine Hasinger have combined their expertise to create a brand new experience. The first "Happiness Booster" will be available on Wednesday. July 25 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. at their facility just off of Alt. 19 in Palm Harbor.

"We wanted a way to celebrate Hump Day, eliminate the stresses of the week and raise money for charity", explains Lane. "What better way than to help frazzled rush hour motorists with a Happiness Pit Stop?"

For $25 you can enjoy a relaxing combination of hypnosis and acupuncture, while raising money for the local Children's Hospital. The Happiness Boosters are available by appointment at The Blue Orchid Healing Center, 1003 Indiana Ave. Palm Harbor. Walk Ins are welcome. Call Debbie @ (727) 781-8483 for more information, to schedule an interview or to make your reservation. More information can also be found at wisdomhypnosis.com.

Next month when I am officially in my new space, what better way to celebrate than with WHD Summer event?

    Excuse Me While I Rant!

Friday, July 13, 2007, 04:20 PM EST [General]

As hypnotists we all know that hypnosis is NOT truth serum.  I stress that with clients and potential clients every day.  Then an article like this appears.

Here is an excerpt:  How do you prove you're a virgin in the town that inspired "Sex and the City"?

The producers of an off-Broadway show are giving away free tickets to anyone who can demonstrate his or her chastity.

Which raises the question: Just how will the theater know?   Producer Ken Davenport, 34, had a hypnotist screen people standing in line for the free tickets to Thursday's first preview of his 90-minute comedy, "My First Time," and determine their status.  Davenport's human lie detector, Sebastian Black, described himself as a mind reader and a psychic hypnotist.

    It is maddening!

    Rant over.
