As hypnotists we all know that hypnosis is NOT truth serum. I stress that with clients and potential clients every day. Then an article like this appears.
Here is an excerpt: How do you prove you're a virgin in the town that inspired "Sex and the City"?
The producers of an off-Broadway show are giving away free tickets to anyone who can demonstrate his or her chastity.
Which raises the question: Just how will the theater know? Producer Ken Davenport, 34, had a hypnotist screen people standing in line for the free tickets to Thursday's first preview of his 90-minute comedy, "My First Time," and determine their status. Davenport's human lie detector, Sebastian Black, described himself as a mind reader and a psychic hypnotist.
It is maddening!
Rant over.

Sebastian Black seemingly, though it's not a fact, is in cahouts with the theatre and created this marketing stunt. Another reason why we all need to police ourselves correctly by using proper credentials and join efforts like World Hypnotism Day.
Tom NicoliThis is how we can be stronger in numbers and not wait for any organization or governing body to increase awareness of hypnotism as the honorable profession it is.
It all starts with self... we need to ask ourselves if what we do, how we act, credentials we use (so many of them are just bogus), marketing and publicity tactics, etc are professional and good for the whole or just self serving.
I'll stop here before I go off on my own rant...
